Community Development and CSER Draft Planning for MIHEP’s Project-Affected Communities

Malinau - Regional Secretary Dr. Ernes Silvanus, S.Pi., M.M., M.H led the Meeting of PT Kayan Hydropower Nusantara (KHN)’s Community Development and Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSER) Draft Planning for Mentarang Induk Hydroelectric Project (MIHEP)’s Project-Affected Communities at Laga Feratu room, Malinau Regent Office on Tuesday, 21 May 2024. 

KHN has now finalised the draft document of its Community Development and CSER Plan for the Project Affected Communities of MIHEP based on the focus group discussions that have been conducted with the University of Borneo Tarakan (UBT).

KHN presented this draft document containing the programs that will be implemented as a form of responsibility to the communities in villages affected by the construction of MIHEP. Heads of related government agencies, as well as sub-district and village heads, attended the meeting to provide inputs for the programmes.

Inputs from local government units and village heads regarding the community development and CSER programmes are compiled by KHN before validating and coordinating with the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda).

Once validated, socialisation and execution of the programmes will take place following the proposed timeline.
